- Scan images up to 54″ wide
- Images over 54″ can be scanned in sections then stitched seamlessly together

- Images can be scanned in colour, grayscale, or black and white
- Custom indexing, book marking, and file naming is available upon request

Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
Optical Character Recognition is the process of automatic recognition and interpretation of text from different types of documents including scanned paper documents, newspapers, magazines or PDF files into editable and searchable data. Calgary Archives offers a number of solutions for extracting text from different types of documents.

Definitions
Despeckle : An image processing (clean-up) operation that removes random specks, called flyspecks or pepper, from an image to improve legibility, OCR accuracy and to improve compression.
Deskew : To straighten out a crooked image. Improves OCR accuracy and reduces image file size.
